When life gets loud, anxiety can feel like the volume knob is stuck. Everything’s a bit too much, a bit too fast, and it’s hard to hear yourself think.
If that sounds familiar, you’re far from alone — and you don’t have to carry it by yourself.
What it can feel like
Anxiety and overwhelm show up differently for everyone. It might be a racing mind at 3am, a tight chest before work, a short fuse with the people you love, or a low hum of dread you can’t quite name. Often it builds so gradually that you don’t notice how much you’ve been holding until it starts to spill over.
Why talking helps
So much of that pressure comes from carrying everything internally. Counselling gives you a calm, confidential space to set it down and look at it with someone alongside you — to untangle what’s really going on, notice the patterns, and find a way back to a steadier footing. It won’t make life’s demands disappear, but many people find that being truly heard helps them feel more able to cope with them.
How I work
My approach is warm, human and led by you — humanistic and integrative, which simply means I meet you as a whole person rather than a problem to be fixed. There’s no judgement here, and no pressure to explain yourself perfectly. We just start where you are.
If you’re in or around Worle and Weston-super-Mare, I’d be glad to help — in person, or online if that’s easier. There’s no commitment in reaching out; we can just talk first.
